Ok so here I go with a vent for all LOL.. Bubba's main pediatrician recently closed his practice. Not because of anything bad or loss of business but for bettering our local ER and bringing in a Pediatric Urgent Care. Which Yuma needs terribly. BUT!! I am now at the mercy of Pediatricians that I feel are uneducated in the aspect of special needs. Do not get me wrong, they know special needs they handle special needs but they are NOT Bubba's fav Pediatrician. I guess I'm partial to him because he and I had an understanding and worked well together. But now I am fighting all over again...I cannot stand a doctor talking to me as if I am stupid. Yet when I tell him something he does not want to fully hear what I am saying.. Like really I deal w/ this w/ my dbf I do not and will not take it from someone who gets paid to listen to my issues or concerns on my son... Men are IDIOTS... Except my son's they have yet to take on the idiot role. Haha!!
I am so with you on this point! I feel that if the doctor is not educated enough or gets to know the kids, they "brush" you off as if you are just another name on there schedule. It must be frustrating finally building a trust and hve a doctor "get it" and boom you have to start at square one again. People wonder why moms of special needs kids are so grumpy...well this is a glimpse! Its a lot of work and thats why you are his mom, because you will get it right. Good luck!
